Art calmly sat in his chair today while I fixed our squeaky stair. Perhaps he knew the payoff would be less noise outside his door while he sleeps. Thanks Art!

Shazam!
Today Ben, Art, my aunt Deb and I met at 8:15am to go before Judge John Q. McShane and have my name changed. The judge asked me a slew of official questions, asked Deb and Ben if they heard the answers and believe they are true, and then he granted my name change from Jessica Austen Parker to Jessica Parker Garvin (I’m a jpg!). Then, I’m not kidding, he raised his arms and said “Shazam!” and asked to see the baby. Cool!
Baby reunion.

The Power of Laughter
I was getting into this bedroom reorganization groove and there was this baby with his totally normal and natural needs getting in my way. Anyway, I was getting a little annoyed but then, while I was changing him for the upteenth time he gave me what we call a “body smile” – when his arms and shoulders and legs and hands all get into the act. I said, “You win!” and my frustration melted away.
