Fun when it’s cold

Here’s a couple pictures of Art entertaining himself when it’s cold. One on our front walk in his new shoes. He doesn’t like walking in them so he mostly just stands. The other picture is at the local coffee shop that has a big play area. Lots of moms are usually there with their kids, but yesterday it was just the two of us.

Latest Signs of Intelligence

Lots of fun things to report. On Sunday Art used a spoon all by himself! He put it in the bowl of squash and brought it to his mouth to eat – all by himself! Yeah Art!

He also thinks he can sweep with the dust broom. Today, when I was sweeping his lunch bits off the floor he made his “I want to do it” sound so I gave him the dustbroom and dustpan and swung them back and forth on the floor, looking very proud of himself. Then he went to the trash later and tried to throw the little broom away, just like Mommy. Well, I usually just throw the content of the dustpan, but it’s kind of the same.

Teeth number 7 and 8 are officially IN.

If you give him some time while you’re putting his pants on he will aim his feet into the legs.

Lastly, Art will imitate certain kinds of sounds really well since he had tubes put in his ears a couple weeks ago. The first night after the tubes we were throwing things against the back door and I was saying, “Waaahhh Bpbpbp” and he said right back to me! Same intonation and inflection! Today the doc said his hearing is totally normal now and the ears look perfect. More yeah!

While Daddy’s away we PLAY!

What do Art and I do all day? Well, we always have at least one outing. Today we had the car so we went to the Children’s Museum, but usually we just go to a coffee shop or Walgreens.

We always eat a snack in the afternoon. Here Art is enjoying shredded cheese and wiggling his finger over his lips to make the “Lblblblblbuh” sound.

And we usually do some kind of housework, such as mowing the bedroom.
