Finally, I get some HELP around here!

Art has probably seen me sweep about 2000 times. Many days I’ll sweep under his chair after every meal and also sweep thekitchen, dining room, foyer, stairs, … it’s a lot of sweeping. But YAY! Today I had him hold the dustpan, swept the crumbs into it and he intuitively took it to the trash can and dumped it out! WOW! That’s SO cool!

Other news, he’s been sick. The doctor thinks it’s been a mild case of Roto virus, an intestinal bug. So he’s had all your usual intestinal productions. He looks like he might have lost a pound or so, which I’m sure he’ll gain back quickly, but, you know, he’s been below his usual energy. It has resulted in lots of extra snuggling, though, which has been kind of nice.

Alright. That’s the news. Happy Spring to all!

Did you know…

Art drinks from a regular cup now? Just one of the develops over the last few weeks since I have been out of the blogosphere. Some other developments include holding his head whenever he bumps it, which does a lot, and signing for more and/or when he wants something. He also can point to his hair, head, ears, nose, eyes, teeth, bellybutton and toes! He knows where his room is (“Let’s go to Art’s room!”) where to go for upstairs and downstairs and also outside. We take a swimming class together but we haven’t learned anything because the teacher is terrible. Really. She lead NO instruction.

He also has just gotten into real, official tantrums. They are short, but frequent – whenever he is removed from something he wants. And it happened overnight. On Thursday if we were going up the stairs together and he wanted to turn around and go down I could pick up and carry him to the top. He might have yelped but he would have gone along. On Friday he went balls-out screaming and writhing around with all his might. He has discovered the power of his own desires.

So, that’s the scoop. Here’s a couple pictures of our recent survey of the yard and Art’s diligence in getting it ready for spring flowers.
