Jessica’s sister Emily had her little girl yesterday. Charlotte James Nawrocki at 12:24 p.m., 5 lbs 3 ounces. Everything went well and the baby is doing great. I was able to take some photos of the birth (c-section) and of their beautiful little girl. Congratulations to Emily and Mike and especially to Charlotte!

Here’s a bit of what Mike wrote the family:
“Full head of black hair.  Long toes.  Allegedly she has her father’s eyes, but we can’t confirm that because they are always closed. I miss her. Think I’ll ditch Emily for a while and see how Charlotte is doing.  Feels weird and great actually calling her by a real name.”

We have ECFE class at Hale School on Saturday mornings. Here’s a post class sprint through the empty hallways.

Jessica wrote and recorded this love song a long time ago and I think it’s brilliant and wonderful. Listen with headphones! Hopefully she’ll add a little comment below this about how it came about, etc. I’m using some free service to embed the mp3 file here.

Jess says:
“I wanted to write a love song for Ben but we had already been together for a few years and were engaged. I really did gaze at him and dream about being next to him when we first met but I knew if I had written that kind of song he would have felt like, ‘Oh, thanks…’ but not really been moved by it. I really am ‘much too practical for that’. So I wrote him a song about how I wasn’t going to write him a love song. Pretty straight forward. That’s why it was just right for Ben. He values authenticity.

“I used my cello to pick out the chords and recorded in our apartment in New Hamshire with Ben’s interview microphone and free Protools on the computer.”

Jessica was being silly and making things looks extra huge but you do get a sense of how much bigger she is this time, you know? I’m not entirely sure how far along she was in the black and white photo, although I think it was near Lewis’ delivery.
